Unleash the Tigress returns to empower women
Unleash the Tigress returns for its much-anticipated second instalment on Saturday, 23 August 2025, at Diphalana Mall, Palapye. Following the success of its inaugural edition, which featured renowned South African actress and entrepreneur Sophie Ndaba as keynote speaker, the event continues to evolve as a bold platform for women to connect, collaborate, and lead with purpose.
This year’s theme, “Am Authentic,” invites women to show up fully in their truth, honoring their stories, talents, and individuality. Guests are encouraged to dress in shades of purple, a color that symbolizes dignity, ambition, transformation, and the power of feminine energy. It sets the tone for a gathering rooted in boldness, authenticity, and self-leadership.
“We created this platform to remind women that their power lies not in perfection but in their truth,” says Clementine Masogo, Founder and Director of Unleash the Tigress Women Empowerment Initiative.
“When women support one another without fear or competition, communities grow, ideas flourish, and real change happens. I would love to see more women creating together, building together, and cheering each other on without hesitation.”
This year’s featured speakers embody that spirit of truth and purpose. Nanzy Chaitezvi, founder of Chai Treats, is a pioneer of indigenous innovation who transforms local fruits into proudly Batswana products while training and empowering women in rural communities. Norma Asali Nlanda, founder of Asali Beauty and a Mandela Washington Fellow, will share her journey of combining beauty, business, and impact through natural cosmetics.
Khumoetsile Magonare-D’Arcy, award-winning author and advocate for African storytelling, brings a legacy of literary excellence and inspiration, while Kathy Mwanza, founder of Cake Fairy, offers insight into turning creative passion into a cross-border business empire. The event will be hosted by the phenomenal Cathy Malejane, a celebrated radio personality, speaker, and master storyteller known for her commanding stage presence.
Hosting Unleash the Tigress in Palapye is a deliberate and symbolic choice. While most major empowerment events are held in larger cities, this gathering recognizes the need to decentralize opportunity and bring visibility, networks, and resources to underrepresented regions.
