Botswana Post, in collaboration with Brave Heart, is poised to crown a new champion in gospel music with the inaugural Poso Gospel Icon competition. This platform, designed to unearth and empower the next generation of gospel artists, is a timely intervention for a genre with a passionate following that is often overlooked. The competition has scoured the country to find exceptional talent, culminating in a fierce final stretch.
The journey has been an emotional rollercoaster for the contestants. From hundreds of hopefuls, the competition has been whittled down to ten finalists who are now vying for a coveted spot in the Top 5.
These finalists, who have impressed judges with their vocal prowess, are: Sarah Amogelang, Tlotlo Mpe, Tao Rapitse, Noma Mathaba, Saltie Elijah, Pesalema Motshodi, Slyvia Mbopi, Faith Kenosi, Tshiamo Senyarelo, and Bokang Thelo.
While the road has been tough, with many talented singers having to exit the competition, it is all part of the game to find the ultimate winner.
The rewards for the Poso Gospel Icon winner are life-changing and a testament to the competition’s commitment to building a sustainable career for the artist. The winner will receive a live record deal, an opportunity to record with the legendary Joyous Celebration on their next album, and the chance to share the stage with the choir at the Life Changing Concert in October.

Guiding the contestants and providing expert feedback are a trio of respected industry figures. The judging panel includes renowned media personality Khumo “Missgeekays” Kgwaadira, multi-award-winning singer and songwriter Samantha Mogwe, and Khaya Sibanyoni, a singer from Joyous Celebration.
