FME DJs turn 10 years in style
A DECADE OF HARMONY: FME DJs celebrates 10 years in style
In an industry where musical groups often go their separate ways, the FME DJs have stood the test of time. Against a backdrop of local acts like Ice Cold Mob, Culture Spears, and Khoisan facing breakups, this Amapiano trio, comprised of Piet the DJ, Dee Bond, and DJ Jozi Straight, is celebrating a remarkable 10-year anniversary.
Their secret is a potent mix of commitment, communication, and hard work, which has made them a true diamond in the rough in Botswana’s music scene. Drawing inspiration from resilient artists like Vee Mampeezy, the FME DJs, whose name stands for Fresh Mafia Entertainment, have become household names with a massive following.
Their online presence alone is a testament to their success, boasting over 100,000 followers on Facebook. But their reach extends beyond just music. The trio also hosts “The Car Show,” a popular online podcast where they hilariously prank their creative friends, showcasing their comedic talents and clever marketing.

The future looks bright for the FME DJs. Their unwavering consistency and dedication serve as an inspiration to aspiring artists across Botswana. As they continue to sail smoothly through the music industry, their story is a powerful reminder that with a strong foundation and a unified vision, a group can achieve lasting success and make a meaningful impact.

The foundation, they say, is a token of appreciation for their fans’ unwavering love and support. This isn’t their first act of kindness; they’ve previously donated to the Kana Kgang initiative, which provides toiletries to those in need, and have distributed large quantities of food parcels to help numerous families.

To mark their decade-long journey, the FME DJs recently returned to their roots in the Old Naledi neighborhood of Gaborone. Through their FME Foundation, they celebrated by giving back to the community that has supported them from the beginning. They handed out essential items like food, blankets, and cleaning detergents, continuing a long-standing tradition of philanthropy.
