O’Neal launches the most ambitious R&B Orchestral showcase
OnealAfrica announces biggest R&B orchestral showcase
Botswana’s entertainment landscape is about to experience a significant uplift. News Café Gaborone, in collaboration with celebrated R&B DJ OnealAfrica, hosted an exclusive stakeholder and media launch for the highly anticipated Oneal R&B Orchestral Showcase. This landmark event is scheduled for November 28, 2025, at the Grand Palm Hotel, Casino and Convention Resort’s GICC.
The launch, an intimate evening held recently, offered corporate sponsors, media personalities, and influencers a sneak peek into what promises to be an extraordinary orchestral experience. Attendees were treated to a captivating performance featuring OnealAfrica alongside renowned South African percussionist Bongani Sessionist. News Café, which has recently relaunched as a premium lifestyle venue, ensured guests enjoyed signature cocktails and exceptional hospitality, setting the tone for the main event.

Phenyo Motlhagodi, co-creator of the event, highlighted the broader vision behind the showcase. “This event marks a bold shift in how we think about entertainment and experience in Botswana,” Motlhagodi stated. He emphasized OnealAfrica’s role as a prime example of how Batswana in the diaspora can return home and significantly contribute to nation-building, brand positioning, and the creation of unique experiences.
Motlhagodi also pointed out that existing events like “Wine and Soul,” heavily supported by Oneal, are already attracting visitors from South Africa, showcasing the immense potential of Botswana’s nightlife economy. This initiative aims to cater not just to local audiences but also to urban tourists seeking high-end entertainment.
The Oneal R&B Orchestral Showcase is strategically aligned with Botswana’s national tourism goals, particularly its ambition to establish Gaborone as a premier Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Events (MICE) destination.
“This is not just entertainment, it’s tourism, investment attraction, and national storytelling,” Motlhagodi affirmed, urging corporate partners to join forces in bringing this grand vision to life.
The upcoming showcase promises to be a groundbreaking event, with OnealAfrica taking the stage alongside a full orchestra from South Africa. The performance is expected to be a masterful fusion of soulful nostalgia, orchestral grandeur, and cutting-edge R&B, poised to set an unprecedented standard for live music in Botswana.
