Box 14 brings new meaning to Shisanyama
Box 14 Chisanyama & Lounge a new Mogoditshane landmark
A new culinary destination is set to become a community hub in Mogoditshane. Box 14 Chisanyama & Lounge is officially launching on Saturday, August 30th, 2025, at Fourways Junction Mall, bringing a fresh take on the popular chisanyama experience to the area.

Drawing its name from the local legend of P.O. Box 14, where residents once gathered to collect their mail, this new establishment revives the tradition of community gathering, this time for good food, good music, and good vibes. Owner Lebogang Okoye says the goal was to create a place for locals to unwind without having to go into town.
Box 14 specializes in simple, yet flavorful chisanyama cuisine, featuring delicious meats and a variety of shareable sides. Their philosophy, “It’s simply ko re blomang” (a place to eat, drink, watch sports, and chill), is reflected in the laid-back atmosphere and their official hashtag, #ReChillaDaar. The restaurant is curated to provide a secure and relaxed environment where patrons can enjoy good food and cool beats.

Beyond the food and atmosphere, Box 14 is deeply committed to supporting the local community. The restaurant employs 22 staff members who all live in the Mogoditshane area, directly supporting local youth employment. Additionally, they source their fresh ingredients from local suppliers, contributing to the local economy and ensuring the freshest possible dishes for their customers.
You are invited to the grand opening celebration this Saturday, August 30th, 2025, starting at 16:00. The event will feature live performances by local artists including Mr O ‘Tshaba Tshutshu,’ Shaft, Lefatshe, Romeo, and Redondo. It’s an opportunity for the community to get a taste of what Box 14 has to offer, from its food to its commitment to supporting local talent.
